"Heavy loads are carried together on shoulders; light ones are carried together in hands."
EthGuardians helps crypto scam victims in Malaysia trace and recover assets through blockchain forensics and legal action. 96% historical recovery rate across closed cases. You pay only if funds come back.
Malaysia has a large and fast-growing crypto community. Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) regulates digital assets and publishes an Investor Alert List, while Bank Negara Malaysia issues official warnings against unlicensed schemes. If a platform is not registered with the SC and contacted you out of the blue, treat that as a serious red flag.
If you have been scammed, file a report with the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) of the Royal Malaysia Police through the 997 hotline, or contact the National Scam Response Centre. Keep your report number. A police report establishes your formal status as a victim, and we often need that document when asking an exchange to freeze funds. A report alone is rarely enough, though: police rarely have the tooling to follow funds across blockchains and offshore exchanges.
The scam pattern we see most in Malaysia is the "Macau scam": a caller impersonates a police or Bank Negara officer, accuses the victim of money laundering, and directs them to move funds into a "safe account" or a fake crypto platform. The second pattern is the fake crypto investment scheme on WhatsApp and Telegram promising fixed weekly returns. The balance on screen keeps climbing, but when the victim tries to withdraw, the withdrawal is blocked with a demand for "tax" or a "verification fee".
We serve clients in Kuala Lumpur, George Town, Johor Bahru, Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu, and across Malaysia. Communication is available in Bahasa Malaysia and English. In the spirit of budi bahasa, we deal with every client courteously and without judgement. Reporting a scam does more than defend yourself: it protects your family, neighbours, and community from the same operator. There is nothing to be ashamed of. The right move is to act on evidence.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia • February 2026
"I lost RM214,500 to a fake crypto investment scheme in a Telegram group. I filed a police report and heard nothing back. The EthGuardians team traced the money flow within three weeks, and most of my assets came back."
George Town, Malaysia • November 2025
"I was the victim of a romance scam that lasted four months. I felt too ashamed to tell anyone. They treated me with respect, reconstructed the entire transaction chain, and recovered RM96,800."
You submit your case for free. We assess the evidence and give you a written assessment. If we take your case, the fee is charged only after recovered funds actually reach your wallet. No upfront payment, no activation fee, no "tax" to release your money.
Never. We also never ask for two-factor codes, remote desktop access, or upfront payment. No legitimate recovery process needs any of these. Anyone who asks for them in our name is an impersonator.
Call the 997 hotline to file a report with PDRM's CCID, or contact the National Scam Response Centre. If the platform claimed to be registered, report it to Securities Commission Malaysia or Bank Negara Malaysia as well. Prepare transaction hashes, wallet addresses, screenshots, and your full chat history. Keep the report number, because we will ask for it.
The initial assessment is done within 24 hours. On-chain tracing usually takes a few weeks. Legal action against exchanges or recipients can take months. Most successful cases close within two to six months; complex cases take longer. We do not promise deadlines we cannot control.
In many cases, yes. The blockchain is a public ledger: every transaction is recorded permanently. Our historical recovery rate is 96% across closed cases, but recovery is never guaranteed. Our free review tells you honestly whether your case is worth pursuing.
Not necessarily. The blockchain record does not disappear. What fades with time is the chance to freeze funds before they move again. File your report through 997 now, then submit your case the same day.
